Wine Store Room On a Budget

Have you ever wanted to create a wine tasting or store room? We did, but it had to be on a low budget. We looked around at supplies we had on hand and then made a list of challenges with the space. Definitely the outlets in the ceiling were a challenge. We located the darkest and coolest corner in the basement. Not ideal being in the laundry room area but we decided to make it work. We highly recommend purchasing an indoor thermometer and humidity monitor.
We had collected bags from around the world and decided they would become wall art for the space. Walmart has great poster frames at a reasonable price. Now we have some wall art.
We needed at storage place for our corks. A nice sheet of plexiglass from your local hardware store and black paint are perfect for those small spaces under the stairs. Get some rechargeable closet lights and bam. It looks awesome. With the left over we made a bag storage spot.
A shelf existed in the space and had seen better days. A little contact paper and hot glue and a few shelf appears. Looking at it's height we realized it was perfect to place our wine storage shelves underneath.
A few stud shelf guides and a white shelf from your local hardware is turning into a fabulous display of wines tasted and glassware for tastings.
It is a work in progress and hope to share the finsih product and cost soon.
Enjoy your creativity.
