The pressure is on to finish the wine store room. Wait until you see what we've been up to....
National Geographic offers a cancelation at anytime and delivery four times a year. The first delivery is a deep discount for you wine lovers.

Carboy Winery in Colorado holds a special place in our hearts. They have incredible wines and cater to all budgets. That's what we love so much. They want everyone to enjoy their wines. We travel each year for the Rosé LaLaLa event in Denver. Carboy invites wineries from all around Colorado to participate in fabulous event. This event is the first Friday in June. If interested we highly recommend going at least once.
Carboy has 4 locations around Colorado and we made it our mission to go to all of them. Each one is so unique and the teams at each one just fit the vibe.
Tonight we are enjoying a Pinot Noir. For those that aren't red friendly we suggest giving it a try.
Happy Weekend!

@wine_trails_tales on Instagram we post a topic each day. Today is Sip'N Sunday. What a day of the week for a sparkling. This rose hue sparkling is from Heath Sparkling Wines in Fredericksburg Texas. It has red fruit aromas, strawberry, pomegranate and rose. It was a smooth finish.
The tight bubbles 🫧 🍾 are wonderful.
Club members I've contacted them for our kick off to our Meet Up April 11 & 12.

Wine: Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Wine Region: Washington, United States 🇺🇸
We recently joined the USA today Wine club. They were offering a large discount to join and the clubs focus is on U.S. wineries. There's 4 shipments per year. Why not give it a try. Our first delivery is focused on wines from California, Oregon and Washington. We think this is our first Washington wine but not 100% confident.
It was an interesting wine. Deep purple in color which seemed odd as we are use to a more ruby colored wine. It was extremely drying from the tannins. We decided to set it aside and let it breathe for a couple of days. Our second tasting did not feel so drying to the mouth.
We paired this wine wine pizza.

While at a home show in upstate NY we did a little wine tasting. Weis Vineyards is a boutique winery located on Keuka Lake in New York's Finger Lakes region. Established in 2016 by Hans Peter Weis, a sixth-generation winemaker from Zell Mosel, Germany, and his wife, Ashlee, a native of Hammondsport, NY, the winery combines traditional German winemaking techniques with the unique terroir of the Finger Lakes.
Hans Peter Weis, who grew up in his family's winery in Germany, earned a degree in winemaking, business, and agriculture before gaining experience in various wine regions, including Sonoma, California. He eventually settled in the Finger Lakes, drawn by its climate and mineral-rich soils reminiscent of his homeland. At Weis Vineyards, he focuses on crafting traditional German-style wines, particularly Rieslings, that highlight the area's exceptional terroir.
The winery has received significant accolades, being named New York State’s Winery of the Year in both 2022 and 2024. In 2024, their 2018 Riesling Ice Wine earned the prestigious Governor’s Cup for Best Dessert Wine.
The dry Riesling was a favorite. Weis Vineyards, located in New York's Finger Lakes region, offers a distinguished Dry Riesling that exemplifies their traditional German winemaking techniques. This flagship wine is crisp, clean profile and harmonious balance of minerality, fruit, and lively acidity. Tasting notes highlight aromas of lime, grapefruit, guava, and subtle pear undertones. The wine's vibrant acidity and full mouthfeel make it an excellent companion for seafood dishes, grilled pork chops, and charcuterie.
The 2023 vintage of Weis Vineyards' Dry Riesling was awarded a Gold Medal at the New York Wine Classic 2024, underscoring its exceptional quality. Priced at approximately $20.99 per bottle, this wine offers notable value for those seeking a high-quality Riesling from the Finger Lakes.

Writing wine tasting notes can be straightforward if you break it into key categories. Here's a simple outline to guide you:
1. Appearance
Color: Describe the wine's color (e.g., pale straw, deep ruby, golden).
Clarity: Is it clear, cloudy, or brilliant?
Viscosity: Observe the "legs" or "tears" on the glass, which indicate alcohol or sugar levels.
2. Aroma (Nose)
Intensity: Is the aroma faint, moderate, or strong?
Notes: Identify specific scents (e.g., citrus, blackberries, vanilla, oak, herbs).
Complexity: Are the aromas simple or layered with multiple elements?
3. Taste (Palate)
Sweetness: Is it dry, off-dry, or sweet?
Acidity: Is it crisp, balanced, or low?
Tannin: For red wines, note whether tannins are soft, firm, or grippy.
Body: Is the wine light-bodied, medium-bodied, or full-bodied?
Flavors: Match flavors to the aromas you noticed (e.g., apple, spice, chocolate).
Finish: How long do the flavors linger? Short, medium, or long?
4. Overall Impression
Balance: Does the wine feel harmonious between its elements (e.g., acidity, sweetness, tannins)?
Style: Is it classic, bold, or unusual for its type?
Enjoyment: Would you drink it again or pair it with specific foods?
Example:
Appearance: Clear, medium ruby with moderate legs.
Aroma: Medium intensity, notes of red cherries, cedar, and a hint of vanilla.
Taste: Dry with high acidity, soft tannins, medium body. Flavors of ripe strawberries, spice, and a touch of oak. Medium finish.
Overall Impression: A balanced and elegant Pinot Noir, great with roasted chicken.
