Western Colorado Wine

Today's feature is in western Colorado, Paonia area. We traveled to the Paonia area to attend West Elks AVA, West Elks Wine Trail event held August 4-6, 2023.

This area is known for its production of white wines but we had some really nice reds as well. Over the weekend we could do tastings and food pairings of your choice. Some of the wineries you could book reservations for multiple course dinners with wine pairings. Order eats like charcuterie boards, brick oven pizza and so much more.

It was a fabulous 3-day event. With music, art, amazing scenery, food, wine and amazing hosts. Accommodations are boutique so we chose to rent our first Airbnb, Leaf Peepers Paradise in Paonia. Located close to downtown we could walk to restaurants, shops and just get out and enjoy the views. Most wineries were a very short distance away.

We decided to let someone else do the driving and entertain us. We booked our wine tour with Western Colorado Wine Tour. Alison, our guide for the day was so much fun. They had a well planned itinerary for the day and she executed beautifully. It's a nice way to experience the wines in the area safely leaving the driving to someone else. The owners were fabulous to speak with and helped us immensely plan our weekend. If your looking to book a tour Western Colorado Wine Tours has a lot to offer. We will definitely tour with them again.

Booking for the event we received a wrist band, tasting glass and shopping 🛍 bag for our wines and goods purchased. This was one of the least expensive events we have attended this year but no less impactful than the hire cost events.
